It is quite amazing how God created some of the plants upon this earth to naturally protect themselves! Isn't it also interesting that some plant roots are vegetables which are good for both human beings and animals to eat? -Tara
Stems are very important for plants. One of the larger things it does is it keeps leaves in the light which causes photosynthesis, a function needed for a plant to survive.
